HEAVY RAINFALL DESTROYS INFRASTRUCTURES

Mnung’una bridge which is located at Msisi village, which is a link between major roads mwanza and singida has totally been destroyed due to the on going heavy rainfalls.

The situation has caused a tight congestion of vehicles which is said to be not less than 450 vehicles are trapped, also communication with the near by regions and countries are said to be at stake.


The villagers claims the technology used for the construction of the bridge were outdated as they were there since the rule of Nalaila Kiula who was at the ministry of construction.


The district commisioner of singida, Queen Mlozi, said for the moment they have strengthen the security sarrounding the area and also they have opened a medical center so as to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

She was also quoted saying“we have also openned an alternative road Singida-Ndago-Msigiri for passenger vehicles and those whose weight do not exceed 10 tones,”

also the district commissioner  of Mkalama, Edward ole lenga reported one person who is a chines citizen died after the car in which they were using got dragged with water from river Kaka near by Gumaga village.
