Manchester United manager David Moyes 'planning summer clear-out'

Manchester United manager David Moyes is reportedly planning a summer clear-out, with several members of the old guard tipped to leave Old Trafford.

The Scot is considering offloading defenders Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

The report goes on to say that Javier Hernandez, Nani, Anderson, Alex Buttner and Anders Lindegaard could also find themselves victims of the same purge.

United have endured a troubled start to 2014, losing three matches in all competitions, their latest defeat coming at the hands of Sunderland in the League Cup.

Earlier today, Vidic was linked with a surprise summer move to Barcelona.
