Juma Kaseja re-joins Young Africans

Tanzania one Juma Kaseja Juma rejoins Tanzania mainland champions Dar Young Africans for a reported fee of 40 millions tsh.

Out of this blockbuster transfer move arises one main question; Why Yanga Had to Sign Kaseja? QUALIFYING for the Champions League significantly enhances clubs' ability to attract the very best players and this is among factors that have seen one of the most gifted goalkeepers in the country -- Juma Kaseja decide to re-join Young Africans.
Champions League is the prize that elite players and managers crave and as with the mini transfer window opening, Premier league defending champions Yanga quickly moved in the market, splashing 40m/- to snatch the former Simba SC's shot stopper.
Yanga seek to strengthen their team for Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League next year and they wanted experience between the posts and such could only be attained in Kaseja.
The diminutive keeper is definitely among the local players, who have featured in most continental club championships matches.
Rumour of Kaseja signing for Yanga started to swirl early this week and the goalkeeper responded to interest from the Jangwani Street club by admitting he does aspire to play in the Champions League.
Yanga Information Officer, Baraka Kizuguto, confirmed Kaseja's recruitment, saying the decision was based on the instructions made by the technical bench to strengthen the goalkeeping position in the squad after seeing the need of having a competent and experienced keeper for the Champions League tournament.
"Yes we have officially signed Kaseja (Juma) on Friday night and he will be with us in the second leg of the Premier League campaign and also in the forthcoming CAF Champions League and we have done so according to the instruction of our technical bench," said Kizuguto.
Baraka said Kaseja has signed a two-year contract with the club. This will be the second time for him to serve the Jangwani Street team having previously served the club in 2009 after crossing from the arch-rivals Simba, before again switching back to Simba the following season.
However, at the end of last season, Kaseja was deemed surplus to requirement at Simba and his contract was never renewed by the club he served for over a decade with distinctions.
He was desperate to find a team to play for and went close to signing for Congolese side--FC Lupopo, a move that was, however, aborted mysteriously.
This forced Kaseja, who is the regular national soccer team Taifa Stars first choice keeper to sit out of the first phase of the 2013/14 season.
However, with goalkeeping crisis at the Msimbazi Street team currently taking its toll, it was reported that the team officials were desperate to land back their long serving keeper to rescue the situation in the final phase of the top flight league and news that he has decided to play for Yanga will come as bitter pills for Simba fans to swallow.
The manner at which Simba parted ways with Kaseja is also explained among reasons that force Kaseja to switch to their bitter rivals after a lengthily consultation with family members.
Initially it was reported that Simba officials approached Kaseja but the keeper demanded 80m/- as a signing fee. Football stakeholders also said the latest move has been part of eagerness for the keeper himself to get a suitable club to feature for, so he could be guaranteed a regular chance of playing in the squad in order to regain his spot in the national team squad.
The signing of Kaseja which took place last Friday night was witnessed by the keeper's manager Abdulfatah Salim Saleh and now he will be joining his former colleagues Ally Mustafa alias 'Barthez' and Deogratius Munishi 'Dida' who all served Simba together previously.
Meanwhile Yanga's Information Officer Baraka Kizuguto has said that after the completion of the first phase of the Mainland Premier league the whole squad and the technical bench has gone for a short break and that preparations for the league second leg and CAF Champions League competition will commence on November 24th .
