Simba Hunt Mtibwa Goalie 'Cassilas'
After missing Juma
Kaseja, Simba are now focusing attention on Mtibwa Sugar goalie Hussein
Sharrif 'Cassilas'
It was earlier rumoured that the Msimbazi Reds wanted to recall their first choice goalkeeper Kaseja after Ugandan Abel Dhaira failed to impress in the Premier League's first phase.
However, Simba suffered a setback when Kaseja signed for their archrivals Young Africans last week. Reliable sources told the the1link on Tuesday that Simba are targeting Cassilas and have even started negotiating with the player and his close relatives. "Simba want to sign Cassilas to replace Dhaira in the second phase and negotiations have already started," one of the sources said.
However, Mtibwa Sugar coordinator Jamal Bayser said the club has no information that Simba want to sign the goalkeeper and that even if they submit an application it will be rejected. "We're unaware of the report ... Simba haven't told us they want Cassilas and they have talked to no one," he said.
"Let us make it clear that we're strengthening our team for the second phase of the league and as such we are not selling any player. "Therefore, even if Simba apply for Cassilas' transfer we will not accept it." Apart from Dhaira, other Simba players are Andrew Ntala na Abuu Hashim.
Simba's Players Registration Committee chairman Zacharia Hansppope has already said that they will have to drop Dhaira because regulations require them to register only three foreign instead of five.
He said they are looking for a goalkeeper and they will release the Ugandan if they get a better one before the start of the second phase and there is a club ready to take him. Simba's goal has been shaky since Kaseja left the Msimbazi Street club after seeing through his contract and the club is now desperately looking for a reliable substitute
